MOU Signed between the CBC and the CzechTrade till 2020
In the presence of the Ministry of Industry and Trade Jiri Havlicek signed a memorandum of cooperation between CzechTrade and the CBC Dubai.
At the headquarters of the Ministry of Industry and Trade Radomil Dolezal, director of the Czech Trade association and Pavel Foubik, president of the CBC signed a memorandum of cooperation. Ministry Jiri Havlicek was present for the signing of the MOU.
Based on this memorandum of understanding will CBCB and Czech Trade cooperate between 2017 and 2020 in cooperation to create a platform and facilities to support Czech export in the SAE. The will create space for the mutual meeting of already existing economical active Czech business entities with local partners and also provide conditions for the entry on new Czech businesses to this territory.
I am very happy to sign the memorandum today and I want to assure all those present that the cooperation of Czech Trade and the CBC will have the continued support of the MIT leadership.
The memorandum covers the EXPO 2020 period in Dubai, which is an extraordinary export opportunity for Czech companies thanks to extensive investments in this project. Here we anticipate significant assistance from the CBC and, of course, the Czech Trade offices,” Minister Havlicek said.
The Co-operation of the CzechTrade and the CBC began as early as 2014 when the CBC was established in May as an association of Czech enterprises active in the UAE market and in other gulf countries. There were 26 founding members of the CBC. In 2017, 150 companies and cooperating partners registered with the CBC.
The Czech Republic’s exports to the UAE were around 19.5 billion crowns since 2016. Globally, the UAE ranks fourth in the Czech Republic’s exports to non-European countries (after the US, China, and Japan).
At the same time, imports amounted to more than 2 billion crowns, the trade balance has been highly active in recent years.
